This Easter is Very Special to Me and Here’s Why

Today is an amazing day for many of us. We commemorate the resurrection of Jesus. I am a believer in Christ and still feel I do not deserve the life the Lord has planned for me. Image giving up the life of your child so everyone can be free of sin. This thought has always been a lot for me to absorb. I am so grateful that God loved us enough to do this. Thank you, Lord, for your unconditional love!

Today is also poignant as in two days, I will honor the 24th anniversary of my mother’s passing (12 days before my birthday). Sometimes I have moments of sadness, and then I remember how excited my mother was to wake her children up at 4 am on Easter Sunday, go to sunrise service at church, and then participate in Easter egg hunts. Nothing was more significant as a kid than getting an Easter basket and learning why the day was so special. These are great memories I will cherish forever. So today, I quietly celebrate the reason for the season.
